La Festa Mille Mille Miglia 2016

Report

【Day3】16 Oct 2016

The race enters latter stage. What will the outcome be?

On day three, La Festa Mille Miglia 2016 finally entered its latter stage. The weather was fine this day too, and it made the entrants relieved. It is very thankful it does not rain on the day when they drive a classic car. Since it gets cold in the morning in Karuizawa, they fully prepared for the drive in the same way as the previous morning and then departed.

Day three also took a route of more than 300 km. This is the timing when the fatigue of traveling begins to tell on the entrants as well as the cars, and it affects whether they can complete the race or not. The route, which crosses over Yatsugatake and Mt. Fuji to Hakone, was a little hard, but still, the entrants seemed to enjoy the drive with the scenery of the mountains.

Many spectators gathered at each point and gave a glowing cheer to the entrants this day too, and it encouraged the entrants and gave them power. Along the way, the entrants met many people waving flags and their hand and taking pictures along the route, and seeing them made the entrants smile. They lifted entrants' spirit, especially when the entrants started feeling tired.

The number of PC competitions conducted on day three was 17. This was the highest number of the four days, so the results of this day would be the key to the come-from-behind win. Some teams moved up greatly, and others moved down. You never know what will happen until the end, but that's what races are.

The final day will travel approximately 250 km from Hakone Town, Kanagawa Prefecture to the finish line, Meiji Shrine in Harajuku. After the three-day drive on the mountain roads, the cars are going to run along a coastal road as well as through the heart of Tokyo. The mechanics continued the maintenance until late so that the cars could run the rest of the race.

11 PC competitions will be conducted on the final day. Who will the winner be?
