La Festa Mille Miglia 2001 - Italia in Giapone

Commemorated by "Italia In Giappone" and 5th Anniversary, the first "La Festa" of 21st century will be very special. The total number of participating vehicle, many of them are prewar masterpiece vehicles and successive sports, cars, has become 103, which is more than ever. We have 10 entries all the way from overseas, including the hero of Mille Miglia, Sir Stirling Moss.

Participants, who are over fifty and are full of sportsmanship, will visit 55 places of beauty and historical interests spread the capital city and ten prefectures, will take the challenge of 40 trials and run towards the finish line 1000 miles ahead by driving inconvenient old cars which are opposed to modern vehicles repleted with electric gadgets. It will be very hard and adventurous trip for old vehicles. The most honourable thing is that we were granted inauguration of His Imperial Highness the Prince Tomohito of Mikasa as honorary president with understanding of our purport. "Continuation is power", by cherishing our event with every step, we are sure that La Festa Mille Miglia will certainly become established as culture. The basic philosophy of La Festa, "Respect for time-honoured things", "Young at heart regardless of age", and "Expanding the circle of friendship among all participants." has been unchangeable since the first meet.
